Pops being a Dad

There were some hairy times on the trip… Times when a father was being a father…  For the most part we were just two friends on a once in a lifetime journey.  We respected each other and had each others’ back….. However, there were times when Pops had to be a Dad.  Things would get scary fast and his paternal instinct kicked in.  I did ky best not to be the son that smiles back and gets an attitude real quick.  Shit happened and it happened fast and I’m glad we didn’t yell at each other one time.  He looked out for me and was just worried about his house and our safety.  Everything went really well, but it is hard to tell your dad to shut up like he is one of your best friends and not make an issue.  There were times when he told me the same thing over and over and it wasn’t like I didn’t hear him, or wasn’t listening, he just needed to tell me a million times because that is how it worked for so many years.  I think this is the first time in a long time that he and I were together like this.  I know it won’t be the last. I had a great time and look forward to listing some more stories and adding to the ones I already made. For now, I’m out of here.  What a great few days, it is too bad its over… For now.
